Boston Artists Ensemble: French Connection (Brookline)

“On March 13 and 15 we bring you two Gallic piano trios of inspiration and refinement. Saint-Saëns’ first Piano Trio was inspired by a holiday in the Pyrenees. Ravel’s Trio, dedicated to his counterpoint and theory teacher, opens with a Basque dance zoriko rhythm and uses the extreme ranges of its instruments to create a rich texture of sound.”
