DESCRIPTION:I am honored to have been invited to participate in a program entitled Madre Coraje Catatumbo in Bogotá on October 28th\, 2026. The program is being presented by Presencias – Sonidos & Ecos\, an artistic and academic program that understands music as a space for living memory\, commemoration\, and reflection. Through concert-ceremonies\, the program brings together works born from pain\, but also from resistance\, hope\, and the celebration of life. Each encounter creates a dialogue between contemporary music\, historical memory\, and the testimonies of those who have survived violence\, fostering processes of symbolic reparation and collective learning. With a particular emphasis on women composers and music of our time\, Presencias – Sonidos & Ecos brings together artists\, academic institutions\, and musical ensembles from across Colombia to explore\, through art\, new ways of remembering\, understanding\, and transforming our present. \nI will be joining the Q-Arte Quartet for a performance of Terra Memoria\, by Kaija Saariaho. The event pays tribute to Carmen García\, a rural community leader and founder of the Mothers of Catatumbo for Peace collective. \n
