On this concert I will present three compositions from the Duo Project. These works were composed by Jim Dalton, Sun Young Lee and David Wallace, all faculty members at the conservatory and at Berklee College of Music. Clara Mazo will be performing with me. I will be joining some of my wonderful colleagues to perform Dvorak's Quintet, Op. 77 in G Major.

I am thrilled to be performing my friend Jeffrey Mumford's Through a stillness brightening with contraBand, the contemporary ensemble here at the Boston Conservatory. This exciting program, entitled Shouting Forever into the Receiver: Music of the Black Avant-Garde, will be conducted by Vimbayi Kaziboni.

Join us for the 10th annual installment of Sharan Leventhal and Friends. For this year’s performance, Leventhal’s studio will be working with special guest artist Robin Marcotte of Boston Conservatory’s theater faculty. The program features new compositions by Conservatory student Gabriel Garza, Conservatory alums Andrew Gretzinger and Elsie Bae Han, and Berklee College of Music students Kaidan Larson and Aleksander Nivette. Leventhal will be joined by violinists from both the Conservatory and the College: Caden Burston, Kaidan Larson, Clara Mazo, Rin Matsuki, and Emily Tang.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of Gunther Schuller's birth. I will be playing two pieces on the Friday concert that culminates a week of activity at Jordan Hall in Boston - one with Marimolin and one with Gramery Trio. Gunther was a towering figure in the world of music and a true mentor.
